Bitcoin ETFs switch to outflows as BTC falls under $95k

Oh, the drama! The intrigue! The utter chaos that has beset the world of cryptocurrency! 🤯 It appears that those darling Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the U.S. have had a bit of a wobble, darling. As the price of Bitcoin dipped below the $95,000 mark, those ETFs suddenly found themselves experiencing a spot of trouble – namely, net outflows! 🚫

According to the delightful data from SoSoValue, those 12 spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net outflow of a rather substantial $60.63 million on Friday. Oh, the horror! The previous day, they were swimming in a sea of net inflows, a whopping $66.19 million! But, alas, all good things must come to an end, don’t they, sweethearts? 💔

Now, I must say, the majority of those outflows came from Bitwise’s BITB, which saw a rather staggering $112.65 million exit the fund. Oh, the humanity! And Fidelity’s FBTC, which logged a rather more modest $16.42 million in outflows. But, darling, BlackRock’s IBIT managed to pull off a rather impressive feat – attracting a rather substantial $68.44 million from investors! Bravo, BlackRock! 🎉

And, in a delightful twist, those nine spot Ethereum ETFs continued their rather pleasant streak, recording a rather modest $4.6 million in inflows on Feb. 18. Ah, the joys of Ethereum! And, of course, Fidelity’s FETH logged inflows for the third consecutive day. How delightful! 🎂

But, alas, all this excitement is rather tempered by the fact that Bitcoin has been experiencing a rather nasty downtrend since its all-time high of $109,200 a month ago. Oh, the woe is us! And, to make matters worse, the probability of President Donald Trump launching an SBR within his first 100 days has dropped to a rather paltry 11%. Oh, the shame! 🤦‍♂️

Now, I must say, discussions within the Trump administration about a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve are reportedly ongoing. Ah, the intrigue! And David Sacks, a rather prominent venture capitalist, has acknowledged that these conversations are taking place. Oh, the drama! 🤯

At press time, Bitcoin (BTC) was down 0.4% over the past day, exchanging hands at $95,287 while Ethereum (ETH) was also trading sideways at $2,688 per coin. Ah, the markets, always a mystery, always a thrill! 💸
